St. Joseph’s SNS Mission Statement

  1. St. Joseph’s Senior National School is a mixed Catholic primary school under the
patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin and has a Catholic ethos. Our school is part of
the local church community and has strong links with the parish.

The school is committed to providing a holistic model of education where each child
is encouraged and motivated socially, academically, physically and spiritually to
become a fulfilled, responsible individual. We aim to achieve these goals in a
positive, supportive climate of openness, partnership, fairness and respect.

St. Joseph’s school welcomes and values diversity and tolerance. We endeavour to
prepare our pupils to take their place in a modern multicultural society by actively
promoting equality and by celebrating the diversity we have within our school
community. We value each child as an individual and seek to promote a sense of
worth through developing self-confidence and self-expression and the ability to relate
positively with other children and adults.

We recognise parents as the first educators and we work in partnership with them
and the wider community to empower students to live in and contribute to a rapidly
changing society and to act as responsible, independent individuals who care about
others and their environment.

We strive to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal
development of the staff through staff development programmes, in collaboration and
partnership with the Board of Management, staff, pupils and the wider community.
In St. Joseph’s school, the school community does its upmost to help each child
commit to achieving his or her full potential in a safe, stable environment and we
place a high emphasis on literacy and numeracy as a means of reaching this goal.
