This month we have been busy getting fit with boxing. We are lucky enough to have Oisín and Vernon come into us every Wednesday afternoon to teach us some skills. We are aiming to complete the Bronze programme this month.
We have been really busy this month preparing crafts for the Christmas Fair. We made many crafts from lollipop sticks to sell and help raise money for our school. We have also created many Christmas art pieces.
This month we also got to run the final mile of our marathon in Santry Stadium. All our hard work and dedication paid off and we all managed to complete the final mile. A strong pace was set by our leader Jason McDonagh who finished first across the line.
This month we have been working hard on animal reports. Everybody choose a different animal to research and present to the class. We learned many new and exciting facts about different animals including; a koola, an akita, a tiger, a presa canario and many more.
In art this month we worked on many different projects. We looking at and discussed the importance of dot-painting in Aborigine cultures. Check out our own dot-art creations! We also looked at the work of Picasso and created our own Picasso Portraits.
This month 6th class have been very busy working on Procedural Writing. Having designed and made our own volcanoes erupt, this month we have made pin-hole cameras. Have a look at our step by step pictures below.
Ms Cashen’s 6th class have been working really hard since returning to school.
We are focusing on Procedure Writing this month. We spent time discussing and planning out the steps for; How to blow a bubble. This month we have also made our own volcanoes and made them erupt using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. Keep in touch to see how we make our pin-hole cameras!
During P.E we are doing our best to get fit and active with some circuit training. We begin by warming up followed by 1 minute at each station giving it our best! We are very lucky to have the use of the Poppintree Center every Tuesday afternoon.
