Welcome to 4th Class!
Take a look at some of the things we are doing in our new classroom this year.
We have been learning about 3D Shapes this month during Maths. We decided to make 3D Shapes in the class, so we used cocktail sausage sticks, and jellies to construct these amazing 3D shapes. Have a look at some below!
Our Christmas concert takes place on the 15th of December.
The Christmas Fair took place in December. We made sock snowmen for the Fair. We made these using socks filled with rice, elastics and ribbons to tie them, and added their features using fabrics and fibres. Here are some of them below. :)
In November, we had Oisín from Boxing Ireland in to talk about the sport of boxing, the Olympics, and famous Irish boxers. He also brought in an Olympic torch for us to hold! We can't wait to start boxing in 6th class.
The Cake Sale
We had our annual cake sale in October. We decided to make a lovely Cheesecake for the Sale. We used digestive biscuits and cream cheese to make our base, and then decorated it with Malteasers, buttons and other chocolatey treats :). The visitors at the cake sale loved our cake, there was none of the cake left after the first hour!
- This month, we started to learn about an artist named Wassily Kandinsky. He loved using colours and different shapes. We decided to use his colourful circles as an idea, and mixed this with autumn trees to make these works of art!
This week we found out lots of information about our families, and then created our own family trees.
